Import Executive
Job Description:
- Coordinate the transportation of airfreight shipments from origin to destination.
- Schedule flights and arrange space with airlines or freight forwarders.
- Ensure timely pickup and delivery of cargo by customer requirements.
- Prepare and verify shipping documents such as air waybills, commercial invoices, and packing lists.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with customs regulations and international trade requirements.
- Maintain organized records of all documentation related to airfreight shipments.
- Ensure that all shipments comply with customs regulations and requirements of both the origin and destination countries.
- Coordinate with customs brokers to facilitate clearance procedures.
- Resolve any issues related to customs documentation or clearance delays.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding their airfreight shipments.
- Provide timely updates on shipment status, transit times, and delivery schedules.
- Address customer inquiries and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
- Utilize tracking systems to monitor the movement of airfreight shipments.
- Proactively identify any delays or issues and take appropriate action to minimize disruptions.
- Provide real-time updates to customers and internal stakeholders on the status of shipments.
- Liaise with airlines, ground handlers, customs brokers, and other service providers involved in the airfreight process.
- Negotiate rates and service agreements to ensure cost-effective and reliable transportation services.
- Monitor vendor performance and address any service quality issues or concerns.
- Identify potential risks and challenges in airfreight operations and develop mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with safety and security regulations to protect the integrity of shipments.
- Implement contingency plans to address unforeseen events or emergencies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices and standard operating procedures.
- Generate regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery, transit times, and shipment volumes.
- Present findings and recommendations to management for strategic planning and decision-making.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to airfreight logistics.
requirements:
•Bachelor degree or equivalent or specific relevant experience.
•3+ years’ experience in the same field (Freight Forwarding, Air, Sea and Inland, Customs Clearance and NAFEZA system).
•Good in English (Writing & Speaking).
•Proficiency in Microsoft office & ERP systems.
•Strong communication & negotiation skills.
Work Conditions:
